Welcoming New Clients (Ages 18+)
Hello there! My name is Justin, and it is a pleasure to meet you! I specialize in helping adults navigate a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges that they experience in the world. My clinical approach is warm, direct, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Metacognitive Reflection and Insight Therapy (MERIT), Motivational Interviewing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
I work with individuals experiencing obsessive-compulsive disorder related symptoms (using my training in ERP), psychosis-spectrum difficulties, mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, addictions, and grief and loss. My goal is to create a supportive, non-judgmental, and structured space where clients can build insight, strengthen coping skills to manage day-to-day stressors, and to make meaningful, lasting changes that they desire. I focus on helping people move forward to greater stability, resilience, and overall well-being.
My decision to become a counselor is rooted in my own personal experiences with mental health. I understand firsthand how overwhelming these challenges can feel, and I am passionate about helping others live healthier and more fulfilling lives. I believe that growth and recovery is possible, and I am committed to working alongside clients as they develop their own idea of recovery, strengthen relationships, set healthy boundaries, and move towards a future that they envision.
Before becoming a therapist, I was a student-athlete–an experience that shaped my appreciation for discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. The lessons I learned (balancing pressure, staying grounded under stress, and working towards short and long term goals) inform the way that I show up in the therapeutic space. I bring that same sense of commitment, resilience, and collaboration to my work with every client.
If not in the therapeutic space, you will find me on the golf course, spending time with family or friends, or watching many different types of sports!
