We have many mental health clinicians who specialize in eating disorders and disordered eating recovery. In fact, we’re able to offer eating disorder treatment to a wide range of individuals. We offer individual and family therapy to women and men, as well as adolescents and children. More specifically, our therapists have expertise and significant experience in the treatment of bulimia, anorexia, binge eating disorder, and other patterns of disordered eating.
Our providers believe that the best treatment approach for treating eating concerns is team-oriented. For that reason, our counselors work with other providers, such as psychiatrists and primary care doctors in the community to round out the team as necessary.
Northside Mental Health offers other recovery-oriented services. In addition to traditional therapy, we may offer group therapy, dietician facilitated restaurant outings, recovery coach services, and peer-led support groups to boost support in the process of recovery. Ask your counselor or check out our calendar of events to learn more and see when these other services are offered.
Northside Mental Health has several therapists specializing in the treatment of addictions including but not limited to alcohol and substance abuse, gambling, sex addiction, and compulsive shopping. Our providers have significant experience in this area with training in both outpatient and inpatient treatment settings.
Many of our providers are also Licensed Chemical Addictions Counselors in addition to their general clinical credentials. We work with men and women as well as adolescents and kids. Our providers also work collaboratively with other members of a client’s recovery team.

Human beings are capable of enduring extreme events. However, just because we can endure them doesn’t mean we can’t also explore ways to release the hold they can have on our lives. It is important to work through traumatic memories to find healing and begin moving forward again in your life. Even the strongest, most self-aware survivors are not immune to the long-term effects of untreated trauma. In fact, many people develop Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD. Our therapists offer effective, evidence-based PTSD treatment to help you find true healing. Visit our Trauma Therapy and EMDR page to learn more about how our trauma therapists work with survivors of trauma.
Marriage counseling & couples therapy is available at Northside. Our experienced counselors work with anyone struggling to improve their relationships. All types of couples are welcome at our counseling office. We help couples who are married, non-married, premarital and LGBTQ. Further, our providers can help couples work through infidelity or divorce.
In addition, we offer family therapy in our Indianapolis counseling office. Through family therapy, we help build strong, connected families through opening the lines of communication and supporting the family as a whole.
Contact Northside for even more details about how we can provide support for your specific, individual concerns.
We offer workshops in the Indianapolis area to promote mental health year-round. Examples of workshop topics include premarital work, continuing marital work, mindfulness for kids, and positive body image work. After attending our workshops, you will feel more confident and able to handle the stress of life!

Therapy in a group setting can be extremely beneficial! In fact, group therapy can go hand in hand with individual counseling and help you get results even faster. Alternatively, group therapy can be a great way to start if you aren’t so sure about the counseling process. Throughout the year, we offer a handful of groups that focus on different issues.
